This week I spent a day cooking over 200 burgers and the same in sausages, as an event volunteer. I even got called ‘chef’ as one point, which I thought was a bit of a stretch, but ran with it.
It was certainly different from the day job and somewhat out of my comfort zone but reminded me just how refreshing a change can be.
After a year of lockdown and remote work, we are all desperate to get out and about, meet new people… volunteering may be just the way to scratch that itch… and it may help others out in the process.
One to think about this week, when I am back at work… have a good week everyone.
